Rust. Its the devil incarnate. The battery tray, kick panel floorboards, and 95% of the screws and bolts are rusted to death but meh. Anywho I started to get rid of some of the crud inside of my Z. I also got the hood and hatch removed.

Inspiration

So I'm always on the internet looking for inspiration for my build. I have found the cars that fit the bill. Enter the Rauh Welt Porsche 930 and the Spirit Garage S30Z. The RWB paint/wheel scheme will be the direction I'd like go with my Z. Also, since I am in love with the race car feel I want to make Spirit Garage styled fenders for the Z.

the start of something beautiful
First, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jamel Lopes-Hurt. This is in no way to sound pompous but that is a name you should remember because I plan on taking the import car scene by storm. I'm 20 years old and a marketing major at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. I have been passionate about cars since I saw my first Datsun 260z owned by my uncle as a child. Ever since then I have been hooked.
I've owned a lot of project cars and I usually end up selling them because of a variety of reasons. Everything from being bored with them, to being too scared to dive into it head first and make mistakes. Honestly I'm not really mechanically inclined but this Datsun 260Z is going to change all that. I have a lot of ideas for the car and since I finally have a decent paying job and a few dollars saved up, I think it is time to build my dream car.
I'm Starting out with a early 260Z (thin bumpers) for my build. It is rusty and needs a good bit of work, but it is a project right?? My plans for the car include a lot of carbon fiber, a turbocharged KA24DE, and some wide flares. I will get more detailed on the build as time progresses but restoration work is first priority. The car will need to be completely stripped and have all the rust repaired as well as every speck of sound deadening and undercoating removed. Once this is done, the car will be equipped with a rollcage and powdercoated in most areas of the car.
Not really sure why I decided to start blogging at 1AM on a sunday night but I need to go to bed. So I'll leave you all with pictures of my soon to be dream car AKA One Tuff Z
